The International Regulation on Phytosanitary -NIMF 15-, adopted by the FAO in 2002, describes the phytosanitary measures to apply having like objetive to reduce the risk of introduction and dissemination of plagues.
Norm NIMF 15 affects to all the sector of the wood including therefore the sector of wood packaging, as well as to the sector of wood companies and the one of recuperators of pallets (as long as these are reused).
It considers two possible treatments as well to carry out:
- Treatment by Methyl Bromide (fumigation)
- Heat Treatment of the wood to 56º C during 30 min. in the core of the same one.
